Transferring to Wellington & Hutt Valley GFHA

Note: You must have a Friendly Manager profile before completing the Player Transfer Form. 

Friendly Manager is used to complete your Wellington & Hutt Valley Membership application and for paying of any applicable playing fees. This guideline is for completing your Player Transfer form (if required).

Responsibility to Transfer

Players who have played for any GAA club worldwide (including Ireland) prior to moving to Wellington will need to complete a Player Transfer.

You will need to be transferred to Wellington & Hutt Valley GAA prior to representing Wellington in any local or national competition. There are different transfer processes depending on the code you're playing, and the process for each is outlined below.

Transferring from Clubs within Australasia (Australia & NZ)

 All players who are currently playing in an Australasian State (e.g. New South Wales, Tasmania, Canterbury, etc) and who wish to transfer to Wellington & Hutt Valley GFHA must complete an interstate transfer form.

Process:

1. Download the Interstate Transfer Application from the Australasian Gaelic Football website here.
2. Complete the form and email a copy to our registrar at registrar@wellingtongaa.com
3. The Registrar will complete and forward the application to the Australasian Secretary for processing.

Transferring from Worlwide clubs outside of Australasia (Australia & NZ)

Men's Gaelic Football and Hurling

(GAA Transfer)

Transfers are managed using the Foireann.ie portal. In future Camogie and Ladies Gaelic Football transfers will use this portal but it isnt available in New Zealand as of now.

Process:

1. Login to foireann.ie (create account if needed)
2. Add your previous club to your profile.
3. Add "Wellington & Hutt Valley" Club to your Profile.
4. From the Profile Screen, select the Player Transfers tab and click "Start New Application"
5. Fill in the Transfer From and Transfer To Fields, selecting "Wellington & Hutt Valley" as the Transfer To Club.
6. Click on Submit

 From here, your transfer application will be processed by the GAA and progress will be shown on your Foireann Profile.

Ladies Gaelic Football

(LGFA Transfer)

Transfers to Wellington & Hutt Valley for Ladies Gaelic Footballers will be moving to Foireann in future but for now you will need to complete a PDF application and submit it to the club for processing.

If you've played Gaelic Football for any club worldwide prior to coming to Wellington you will need to complete the application form. If it's been more than 5 years since you played or havent played since School age, there is no need to complete a transfer form.

Process:

1. Access the Transfer Form on the Resources Tab in Friendly Manager.
2. Complete the first section and save it as a local copy.
3. Forward the copy to the club by emailing it to registrar@wellingtongaa.com.
4. Our Club Registrar and Secretary will complete the form and forward it to Australasia for processing.

Camogie

Transfers to Wellington & Hutt Valley for Camogie Players will be moving to Foireann in future but for now you will need to complete a PDF application and submit it to the club you are transferring from for processing.

The main difference in Camogie Transfers is that you need to Transfer AWAY from your previous club and then show the completed transfer to your NEW club.

Process:

1. Access the Transfer Form on the Resources Tab in Friendly Manager.
2. Complete Section A on the form and save it as a local copy.
3. Forward the copy to the club you last played for.
4. Once you receive notification of your Transfer, please email a copy to our club at registrar@wellingtongaa.com for record keeping.
