Gaelic football is a mishmash of AFL, rugby, soccer, basketball and netball all in one. Sports which hurling/camogie resemble are field hockey and lacrosse. Sound like a bit of you?
Great – because we host a social Gaelic football and 'hurlogie' (hurling/camogie) tournament in Wellington over the summer months. These summer sports are fun, friendly and suitable for all levels of experience. Following the games, we like to enjoy a beer and a snag from the BBQ after game. It’s a great opportunity for people who are brand new to Gaelic games.
Pre Christmas Socials run in November and December each year. Post Christmas tournament takes place in January and February
Everyone is welcome! If you’ve never played Gaelic games before, this is a great time to start.
You’re right – Gaelic games are amazing. We're currently in the off season, but feel free to contact Social Games Officer Ronan O'Malley at socials@wellingtongaa.com for more information. You can also join the Wellington Social Gaelic Football group on Facebook for updates.
