New Zealand championships 2018

27 Mar

Te Whiti Park was the venue for the 2018 New Zealand Championships on 24 and 25 March.

Teams from all across the country flew to Wellington to face off in the annual competition. Day one started early and every team was keen to take to the field. On hand were the combination of umbrellas and bottles of sunscreen to prepare for Wellington's changeable weather.

Junior men's football, senior men's football, senior women's football, camogie and hurling were packed into the two days. With many a player eager to claim a cup, day two saw better weather and better football, hurling and camogie.

Auckland saw a heap of victories, winning both the men's senior football and the women's senior football. Naomh Críostóir sealed victory in the men's junior football, while our players from Wellington/Hutt Valley saw victory in both the hurling and camogie.

Celebrations in D4 on Allen went 'til the wee hours as overflowing trophies were passed around.

A big thank you to Rob Georgiou Photography for all the great photos from the weekend. You can view them here, here, and here.
