Wellington Sevens 2022

20 Oct

The 2022 Wellington Sevens tournament will take place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October (Labour weekend) at Awakairangi Park, Upper Hutt. It'll be the first national sevens tournament since the 2020 tournament which was also hosted in Wellington.

The two-day tournament will see teams from Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, and Queenstown take to the field in a seven-a-side tournament featuring the four codes of men's and women's football, hurling and camogie.

The tournament will have two grades: senior and social. The senior grades will be your usual competitive, "no-holds-barred" affair, while the social grades will be catered to beginners, masters players and those who want to enjoy a more relaxing long weekend.

It promises to be a great weekend of Gaelic games and we can't wait to see our GAA friends from all over the motu in attendance.

Key information and tournament rules can be found below, and we'll have more information available in the lead-up to Labour weekend. If you have any questions about the tournament, contact pro@wellingtongaa.com or tournamentsmanager@wellingtongaa.com.
